The City is conducting a study regarding charging for on-street parking in the Downtown Core, WILBURTON, and Bel-Red neighborhoods. In February, the project team hosted two open houses to provide background on the study, describe the project goals, highlight potential curb pricing strategies and answer questions. There is also an online survey for community input: https://www.engagingbellevue.com/curb-pricing-study/surveys/curb-pricing-study-survey

Safe Parking Lot Opened Last Year
Bellevue’s Safe Parking Lot is located on the west edge of Wilburton, on 116th located between NE 4th & NE 8th. The site, known as the Lincoln Center, is city-owned and has 20 parking spaces, of which 15 were recently filled. Inside the Lincoln Center are bathrooms, showers, and a kitchen for individuals admitted to the program. Individuals must apply and then be accepted before they can park in the lot. “4 Tomorrow” has been hired by the city to run the program and donations are gratefully accepted. Particularly needed this time of year is lightly used warm clothing, especially socks.

Residential Neighborhood Speed Limit Change
The city is revising speed limits on most residential streets from 25 MPH to 20 MPH as part of it’s Vision Zero effort. The project will change out approximately 350 existing speed limit signs and replace about 150 pave-ment markings. Design work this year with installation in 2026. https://bellevuewa.gov/city-government/departments/transportation/projects/neighborhood-projects/local-street-speed-limit-reduction
